Our House: Part 3, A Cold Shoulder (Marlene Stevens)

My side of his house:

My family has had it's share of what you would call "the connection"
to weird things (ie. gifts of healing, mental telepathy and the like).
None of these things were really every-day-things, but when I came into
his house for the first time, it felt like there was something "different"
about the place. The air was heavy. There was a sense of a lot of emotion.
Homey but eerie at the same time.

My first experience: Sitting at the long dining table that now occupies
my dining area, we were playing cards by ourselves. We
had the radio playing in the background. I noticed the drapery
that hung to cover a former window (now part of wall adjacent to a room
addition) began to move behind Tim. Not gentle swaying, mind you, but
jerky back and forth movements. I peeked under the table to see if the
dog was in the house, messing around, but I knew he was outside.
I had let him out.  When I leaned back to an upright position, Tim
asked me what I was looking for. Before I could answer, I felt the hard
pressing of a hand on my shoulder and a cool brush of air against my cheek.
That was it!  "I'm outta here!" I advised him as I threw down my cards.
I was not going to explain why until I was out the door.----Marlene Stevens
